Agate box - Collection Scatole Segrete (Secret Boxes Collection) des. Ettore Sottsass - limited edition of 99 - made by Numa

This precious box, designed by Ettore Sottsass, is highly collectable. It's beautifully crafted from birch ply with an ebony and maple veneer with a wax finish. Numbered edition of 99 pieces. 

It's a miniature works of architecture that's intended to house, in Sottsass' romantic words, "things to be kept a bit secret; a special paintbrush, notebooks made of special paper, love letters maybe". The late, great Sottsass also intended the boxes themselves to be treated as preciously as their contents, so a box can "feel that I am treating it gently and don't want to hurt it in any way".

Each piece is crafted in solid wood and branded internally with Sottsass' signature and edition number.  Supplied in a numbered wooded crate, branded 'Numa' along with a certificate of authenticity and document outlining the development process.
