Day of the Dead Corkscrew, des. Ariel Rojo and Stephanie Suárez for Kikkerland

The "Dia de los Muertos" or "Day of the Dead" zinc alloy and stainless steel corkscrew designed by Ariel Rojo and Stephanie Suárez for Kikkerland is as whimsical as it is functional. 

The "Dia de los Muertos" is a holiday celebrated in Mexico to honour the lives of loved ones who have passed. The skeleton is a central image used in decorations for the holiday, and the "Day of The Dead" corkscrew won the Kikkerland 'Mexico Design Challenge' in 2011.
