Superb vase, handmade by artisans in Italy. Cast in white clay with yellow crystalline decoration over brown engobe. The engobe is a clay-based colour that is spread over the unfired ceramic surface. The piece has a rough surface which results from the presence of sand grains within the engobe.
The vase features a sequence of spirals, expressed in warm tones, punctuated by thin bands of brown engobe that accentuate the silhouette.
Christoph Radl was born in Switzerland in 1954 and raised in Austria. He moved to Milan in 1977, where he met Ettore Sottsass. In 1993, he founded RADL, a studio dedicated to art direction, communication, and graphic design. Since 2014, he has been the creative director of Cabana magazine.
