is part of Josef Albers' seminal Homage to the Square series, a two-decade exploration of colour interaction and his most influential artistic achievement. With mathematically arranged concentric squares in varied hues, this series—spanning over two thousand works—remains a foundational influence on colour theory and art education today.

Albers (1888-1976) was one of the most pioneering artists of the 20th century. A key Bauhaus figure, he studied and taught there for over a decade. His teachings continue to shape art education, and his revolutionary book Interaction of Colour is as relevant today as it was when it was first published in 1963.
