The Story
We absolutely adore the bold colours in this poster!
Inspired by a major exhibition on Islamic art in Munich in 1910, Henri Matisse travelled to Tangiers in Morocco in the winter of 1912. This painting, 'Moroccan Landscape (Acanthus)' captures the overgrown, thriving acanthus leaves in the lush garden where he worked. Matisse carefully chose his colour palette to express the dripping humidity and growth of the garden after weeks of rain.
Approx dimensions 40 x 31 cm
We send posters rolled in tubes. Avoid hanging in direct sunlight to prevent fading.
