The Story
The fourth edition of Eames Playing Cards by Art of Play pays homage to "The Little Toy" - a small variation of "The Toy". In contrast to its larger predecessor, which was made for people to play βin,β Charles and Ray made this design for children and adults to play βwith.β
Originally released in 1952, The Little Toy was designed to inspire creative construction through a series of colourful panels, wireframes and connectors. For playing cards, the components were used to create a minimal numbering system where the small connectors act as edge markings for quick reference.
Eames Playing Cards come in a letterpress-printed tuck case printed on sustainable paper using vegetable-based dyes.
The design of the box references the famous home built by Charles and Ray, a creative base where they lived for many years.
Made in the USA.
